Aviatrix performing

The Alliance High School Jetsetters and Aviatrix are set to welcome 18 schools to perform during the 6th annual day-long Royal Aviation Show Choir Competition on Saturday, Feb. 22.

With a full schedule of performances, Royal Aviation is hosting a record number of schools from Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Each school will perform during the day performances, with an award ceremony taking part mid-competition to select the choirs who will perform during the finals portion of the competition.

“Royal Aviation is always a great time and we love being able to showcase our amazing facilities and performance space,” said Carrie Chunat, AHS Choir Director. “Our competition is designed to provide an intimate, supportive atmosphere where smaller show choirs can truly shine. I hope everyone can come to experience the energy, talent and excitement of the day!”

Along with the traditional show choir performance, there will be a soloist competition that will take place in the AHS Learning Commons. This competition is open for all to attend at no cost. It will take place from 9:30 a.m. and end at around 4 p.m. Performers choosing to participate in the solo contest sing a song of their choice and receive feedback from the judges. The winner of the contest will have the honor of opening for the finals.

The competition will include performances from Garfield Heights Music Express, Euclid Varsity Chorale, Licking Valley Vocal Impact, River Valley Middle School Revolution, Buckeye Valley Middle School Allusions, Kenton Middle School Dimensions, Ada Varsity Singers, River Valley Music Company, Van Buren The Association, Scranton First Edition, Buckeye Valley Visions, Kenton Top Twenty, Nitro ShowCats and Musselman Kaleidoscope.

Ticket prices for Royal Aviation are:

  • Daytime performances - $15

  • Evening (finals) performances - $10

  • All Day - $20

For those unable to attend in person, a free livestream of the event will be available here: https://boxcast.tv/view/royal-aviation-show-choir-competition-2025-dj68hckbpod8flnkijd2.

There will also be an Alliance ticket that will allow community members to see the non-competing exhibition performances, including the Jetsetters, Aviatrix and Alliance Middle School Show Choir and Lakeside Melodica for $5. The Alliance ticket will allow entrance to Royal Aviation from 5-6 p.m.

Along with the competition, there will be food trucks available from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. for community members to enjoy and a small craft show from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The food trucks will include Travelin Tom’s Coffee, Dudley’s Ice Cream, Angello’s 2 U, Wheely Good Food, BJ’s Kitchen Food Truck, Seafood and Eats Food Truck, Ellington Steakburger and Cold As A Mugg. The food trucks will be located in the bus loop at AHS and in the front parking lot. Additional food will be available for sale in the high school.

Royal Aviation t-shirts will be available to purchase for $20.
