ZETA PHI BETA SORORITY SCHOLARSHIP: The mission of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.'s National Educational Educational Foundation is to support higher education achievement through scholarships and conduct community education programs and related research to improve individual and community living standards. The Foundation annually provides financial assistance to worthy students pursuing higher education both at the Undergraduate and Graduate levels. THROCKMORTON SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is for students who met these specific requirements: Student must be African American or Native American and must reside within the Northeast Ohio or Western Pennsylvania geographic region, have a copy of birth certificate, attend an educational facility that must be in Northeastern Ohio or Western Pennsylvania, have a copy of current High School/College grades and GPA, have a current financial needs form from the school that documents grants, scholarships and loans being presently received, have a current bill from the school for the next semester/quarter, have a copy of the courses being taken for the next semester/quarter, write a one or more short paragraphs that should state why you should be considered, your future goals, college major/minor, needs, extracurricular activities at school or in the community, and send in final high school transcript (if applying during senior year of high school). Click here for more info.  Or, email april.m.thomas@huntington.com for questions regarding the scholarship.

DISTINGUISHED YOUNG WOMEN SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is for any young lady in the class of 2018 who is involved in school and/or community activities, has outstanding in academics, leadership, athletics, or the arts.  Click here for the link to the application.

OHIO UNIVERSITY CHEMICAL ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP: This scholarship is available through Ohio University for any student interested in chemical engineering who is an Alliance High School graduate. Requirements include admission to Ohio University and acceptance into the Engineering college. Click here for the website to access the website. THE BEAUTY + WELLNESS SCHOLARSHIP: This $1,000 scholarship is to support the health of college women. Requirements: Must be a graduating high school senior, current college undergraduate, or current graduate student at a 4-year, 2-year, vocational, or technical school in the United States, must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, and must identify as female. All majors and GPAs are welcome to apply! Click here for the application. The scholarship will be given out quarterly. Deadlines are January 1, March 31, June 30, and September 30 every year.

HORATIO ALGER SCHOLARSHIPS: These national and state scholarships are based on students pursuing a bachelor's degree, who have at least a 2.0 GPA and who need financial assistance for college. Click here for link

CARING.COM SCHOLARSHIP: As the population of older adults continues to grow and life spans lengthen, more and more young people are taking on the role of caregiver for older loved ones. While the exact number of young people taking on this responsibility is not well understood, it’s estimated to be well over 1 million.On top of their demanding caregiving duties, many of these young people are simultaneously pursuing high school, college or graduate-level education. COLLEGE BOARD SCHOLARSHIPS: This program was created to help students earn the chance at a scholarship. The program is currently open to class of 2021 students in the United States, Puerto Rico, and U.S. territories, regardless of citizenship status. U.S. citizens and residents attending Department of Defense Education Activity schools abroad may also participate. At least half of all scholarships are designated for students whose families earn less than $60,000 per year. Click here for the application website.

JACK KENT COOKE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP - The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is looking for applicants for their College Scholarship. Requirements include Exceptional academic ability and achievement: Strong academic record, academic awards and honors, and substantive assessments by educators providing confidential recommendations. In addition to GPA and college entrance exam scores, we consider participation in available advanced courses, commitment to learning, and intellectual curiosity; Unmet financial need: Demonstrate unmet financial need/will consider applicants with family income up to $95,000; Persistence: Determination and perseverance in the face of challenges, ability to set and remain focused on goals and to put in the effort needed to meet those goals in the face of obstacles; Leadership: Ability to organize and positively influence others in and out of school (family, religious community, sports, arts, etc.); Service to Others: Purposeful and meaningful commitment to others which may be evidenced by participation in volunteer/community service activities. THE DR. JUAN ANDRADE SCHOLARSHIP: The Dr. Juan Andrade Scholarship for Young Hispanic Leaders through the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute (USHLI), is seeking to award up to $1,000 to eligible applicants. This scholarship is open to students enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a full-time student, at an accredited four-year or two-year institution in the U.S. The applicant must demonstrate financial need and one parent must be of Hispanic ancestry. DIRK DERRICK CAR & TRUCK ACCIDENT INJURY SCHOLARSHIP: The Dirk Derrick Car & Truck Accident Injury Scholarship is an award for any current or soon-to-be undergrad in the United States who has had his or her life altered due to an injury from a car or truck accident, be it their own injury, that of a loved one, or an influential individual. The Dirk Derrick Scholarship has a brief submission process, and applicants will be judged on their ability to convey the lasting effect an auto accident has had on their life as well as their journey to overcome those challenges. Students applying must submit an essay where you explain, present, inspire, or otherwise convince us as to why you deserve to win this scholarship.There are no conditions or requirements for this essay. ATHENA/WOMAN OF THE YEAR SCHOLARSHIP: $1000 scholarship to a deserving female high school senior who has demonstrated community involvement, academic achievement, and leadership. Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and be accepted at a recognized institution of learning offering a post-high school curriculum. EQUITABLE EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP: The Equitable Excellence Scholarship award winners come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences, but are united by their drive, determination, and strong character. Eligibility includes demonstrates courage, strength and wisdom as shown by community impact through volunteer service, be high school seniors planning to attend an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States, be willing to provide a release to publicize their identities and information about their achievements along with photographs for use in program promotion and information, and be a United States citizen or legal resident living or claiming residency in one of the 50 U.S. states, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico. THE HEER LAW ENTREPRENEURSHIP SCHOLARSHIP: At Heer Law, we know students have great entrepreneurial ideas. We also know that many startup businesses start by bootstrapping whereby the initial funding comes from the founder's personal funds. For young entrepreneurs, a lack of personal funds combined with educational costs can seriously stall the progress they make in moving their business ideas forward. So, we've set up a scholarship to help. To apply for the scholarship please send us, in confidence, a copy of the business plan for your current or prospective business, together with the details outlined in the scholarship criteria below. Since we are an intellectual property law firm, your business plan must include a section outlining your business's intellectual property strategy for our consideration. In order to be eligible for the $2000 CAD scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria: Must be currently attending university or college or set to attend during the 2019-2020 academic year; must be in good standing with their current or prospective institution; must apply via email and provide their name, address, university or college, major and expected graduation month and year; provide their application (a business plan for their current or prospective business which includes a section outlining intellectual property strategy) by December 31, 2019. OHIO TOUR GUIDE SCHOLARSHIP: At The Zebra, we know better than most just what a pain buying car insurance can be. We also know that students suffer from higher-than-average policy rates. Talk about a double-whammy. That’s why, this year, we’ve decided to continue The Zebra’s annual scholarship with the goal of helping to alleviate the financial pressures of college-bound students in the Ohio area, while also getting an insider view of the Buckeye State. So, students, we want to see your favorite road trip destination(s) in your state— from your unique perspective. If it makes sense to hit the open road and be our virtual tour guide, that's great! But there are no limits to what we're looking for: a narrated animation, a slideshow of memorabilia, an illustrated map of the best roadside attractions on the way. THE HUGGABLE SUPERMOM SCHOLARSHIP: The Huggable Supermom Scholarship focuses on supporting single moms, children of single moms, or people whose lives have been impacted in positive ways by single moms. Put simply, the Huggable Supermom Scholarship is a student scholarship designed to support single mothers and those who support them and benefit from their love. All GPAs are considered. DOMINION ENERGY SCHOLARSHIP: Dominion Energy has established a scholarship program to assist students residing in one of the states listed below, who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin. Applicants to the Dominion Energy Educational Equity Scholarship Program must Be historically underserved students who self-identify as Black/African American; Hispanic or Latino; America Indian or Alaska Native; Asian; or Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, must be a high school seniors or graduates or current college undergraduates residing in one of the following states: CT, OH, WV, VA, MD, NC, SC, ID, WY, UT, must plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year, and must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent). EPSILON SIGMA ALPHA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: The ESA Foundation has awarded more than $3 million in scholarships and continues to award numerous scholarships annually. BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY TRADE SCHOOL & COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP: The Berkshire Hathaway Trade School & College Scholarship opportunity is for three (3) deserving High School Seniors. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Northwood Realty Services is sponsoring the 2019-2020 Dream...Innovate... Grow Scholarship(s) to three amazing seniors that embody one or more of these traits. Each scholarship is valued at $1000 per year, for up to four years. Seeking three qualified individuals who intend to become a full-time student at a college, university, or trade school for the fall of 2020. THE PHILOMATHEON SOCIETY OF THE BLIND, INC SCHOLARSHIP GRANT: This scholarship grant is available each year for a qualified legally blind Stark County High School Senior or qualified former student. The grant is for $1,250 for each of the two  years of college or advance training. The definition of legally blind is as follows: The central vision in your better eye, with the best correction possible, is no better than 20/2000. AAA OHIO AUTO CLUB SAFETY PATROL SCHOLARSHIP: The AAA Ohio Auto Club is offering high school seniors the opportunity to apply for one of ten $1,000 grants by competing in the AAA School Safety Patrol $1,000 Grant Scholarship Program. To apply, students must complete the application form, which includes the student's academic record, safety patrol experience, in-school and out-of-school activities, and references. Students must also provide a transcript, a letter of recommendation, and write a minimum of 500 word double spaced essay. Click here for the application. DEADLINE: Friday, February 26, 2021

ENGINEERS FOUNDATION OF OHIO SCHOLARSHIP: These scholarships are administered by the Engineers Foundation of Ohio (EFO), a non-profit educational foundation dedicated to the advancement of engineering education in cooperation with the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE). Requirements include 3.0 minimum grade point average (A=4), minimum SAT (Math=600, Reading or Composition=500) or ACT (Math=29, English=25), be a citizen of the U.S. & permanent resident of Ohio, and be a graduating high school senior. DR. G. JAMES PINCHAK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: Dr. G. James Pinchak Memorial Scholarship is named in honor of our late friend and mentor, the Dr. G. James Pinchak. The  Memorial Scholarship has been established to aid and honor outstanding high school students in career-technical education.The Executive Board of the Ohio Career-Technical Administrators Association (OCTA) is proud to offer scholarship opportunities in his name. The purpose of this scholarship is to help further the education and training of career-technical education students and is available to all current Ohio senior students enrolled in a career and technical education (CTE) program in a city, compact or joint vocational school district. Applicants should be in good standing. The scholarship will be awarded to a senior student successfully completing a CTE program of study. THE RUTH WOLTER TUITION GRANT: The College Club of Canton is offering a tuition grant for the mature woman who needs one year or less to complete her college degree. This is also available to graduates who need additional requirements for a specific type of employment, and to licensed nurses who need an additional year for a degree. This is being offered with the hope that it will encourage a woman whose education was interrupted for some reason to return to college, thus enabling her to work in an educational, service, or cultural field. Any applicant for this grant must live in the College Club community (Stark & adjacent counties) and be willing to work in her field in this area when she has completed her course of study. THE OHIO OIL AND GAS ENERGY EDUCATION PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:The Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP) and the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Foundation (Foundation) are pleased to announce our scholarship program targeted at students pursuing careers in the crude oil and natural gas industry.Each scholarship is worth a minimum of $1,000 per year and can be renewed for up to four years. The minimum scholarship applicant criteria includes: Must be a U.S. citizen, must have a career goal in the natural gas and oil industry, must be an OHIO resident OR a student attending, or planning to attend, an accredited OHIO college, university, technical or trade school, must have and maintain a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 2.5 or higher. YLS BOOK SCHOLARSHIP: College textbooks are a necessary, but costly, expense that is not typically covered by academic scholarships. The United Way of Stark County’s Our Young Leaders Society (YLS) helps ease that burden for students through its textbook scholarship fund. This scholarship is a $1,000 award, renewable for up to four years, created to offset the expense of books needed to further a student’s education after high school. Click here for the application. THE JOSEPH A. AND RHEA M. JEFFRIES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: The Joseph A. and Rhea M. Jeffries Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is a $750 scholarship that is granted to a Stark County student who has demonstrated academic achievement, character, leadership, and service to school and community. Two scholarships will be awarded for the 2021-2022 academic year. Applicants must meet the following requirements: 1. Be a resident of Stark County and a senior in or a graduate of a Stark County high school 2. Be accepted or have an application in process by an accredited college or university 3. ALBRIGHT LIVING CARMELA LOLLI MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP: The Albright Living Carmela Lolli Memorial Scholarship is open to Alliance High School seniors. Requirements include an essay answering “What legacy do you want people to remember about you after you’re gone?”, an activities list/special recognitions while attending high school, 2 letters of recommendation (1 teacher) (1 community/ personal), and a list of any other financial aid you know you will be receiving. BOYD AND JOAN WALLBROWN AGRICULTURAL INNOVATION SCHOLARSHIP: To honor the memory and legacy of Boyd and Joan, their four children established the Boyd and Joan Wallbrown Agriculture-Innovation Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded annually to a person or persons choosing to pursue their education leading to a career in agricultural production, crop production or livestock/farm animals. A scholarship will be awarded to a student who will be enrolled in a two-year technical school or a four-year undergraduate college program in the study of production agriculture or farm management.
