Early Learning School

Aviator Families, As many of you may be aware, there was a large-scale water outage throughout much of Alliance yesterday. While the break has been fixed, there is now a boil advisory in effect for many areas of the community, including Alliance High School, Alliance Middle School, Alliance Elementary School and Alliance Preschool. Due to the extent of the boil alert, all buildings in the district will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 23. While the boil advisory implemented by the city is precautionary in nature, Alliance City Schools must take it seriously. This particular advisory calls for boiling water that will be used for food preparation, consumption and washing hands. With this precautionary measure in place, food preparation would be challenging in the district and students would be unable to use sinks and water fountains in the impacted buildings. As we always want to prioritize the safety and security of our staff and students, we believe it is in the best interest of the students and staff to close all schools for Thursday and will plan to return on Friday, Jan. 24 pending acceptable water test results from the city. We will keep all Aviator families updated on this matter.

Megan Harper and Cindy Gaines hosted another family activity for the students in their class! This month, the students and their families celebrated the holiday season by building their very own gingerbread houses! 🏠 The kiddos really enjoyed sneaking a taste of the frosting while building their houses. Kelly Barthel and Jason Dotson combined fun and learning together when they had a sight word snowball fight! Mrs. Barthel wrote high frequency words on papers and crinkled them up into snowballs. While Mr. Dotson played some music, the kiddos tossed the snowballs around. When the music stopped, the kids took their snowballs to their seats and wrote down the word they had. The December #LikeAGirl event featured guest speakers Allison Morrison and Tori Popio who spoke about "Giving the Gift of Friendship!" 🩷 Special guests Isabella Hall and Lilyan Ronske from the Greater Alliance Carnation Festival Queen's Court participated in the discussion and helped with the activities. 50 girls and 16 mentors made and gave away their very own friendship bracelets! #RepthatA

The students in Tanya Coler's class at Alliance Early Learning School learned about advent calendars and how they help children count down the days to Christmas. 📅 Each student received their own advent calendar filled with yummy chocolate that they will open once a day for a sweet treat! 🍬😋 What a fun way to celebrate the holiday season! 🎄 #RepthatA

Over 400 students and family members attended the PTO Hot Pots night last week! The students got to use their art skill and painted a mug or a plate with their own special design. 🎨 After painting, they enjoyed hot cocoa and pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus! 🎅 A big thank you to the PTO and Hot Pots for putting on this fantastic event for our families! #RepthatA
