The words “The Pink Flamingo” appear in pink neon lettering above the flamingo. Text at the bottom of the graphic reads: “Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Tuesday, October 27th Alliance Commons”

The Alliance High School Choralaires are hosting a Mystery Dinner Theater at The Alliance Commons, 405 S. Linden Ave., on Tuesday, Oct. 27. The show will begin at 6 pm with doors opening at 5:15 pm. This fun and interactive show will feature 11 cast members who will entertain and lead the mystery through musical numbers along with mocktails, appetizers and dinner service from the AHS Culinary Arts Career Tech Program.

The story begins with a karaoke contest at The Pink Flamingo. Everything is going well until there is an unexpected murder. All patrons in attendance are tasked with helping to solve the crime and capture the person responsible. The show takes place in three acts and includes plenty of audience participation, fun entertainment, comedy and singing from the talented Choralaires, an audition-only choir at AHS.

“I am enjoying working with my Choralaire students in a different realm,” said Carrie Chunat, Choir Director. “Many of them have been involved in musicals at AHS, but this is more dramatic and less musical-like. It pushes them in different ways. I’m proud of all their hard work, especially by the students who are portraying characters who are very different from their normal personalities.”

The evening will include food and mocktails between each act specifically designed for the evening and prepared by the students in Culinary Arts. The full menu will be released closer to the date of the event. Choralaire students not cast in the show will assist with serving throughout the evening.

Tickets are $40 a person and will include the food, mocktails and soft drinks along with the show. Tickets can be purchased at https://singingaviators.ludus.com/index.php. Space is limited and tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

All proceeds raised will go towards the Choralaires’ trip to Carnegie Hall next summer.

Doors will open at 5:15 pm with the appetizers and mocktails being served at 5:30 pm. The show will begin promptly at 6 pm and is anticipated to last until around 8:30 pm.

Due to the nature of this event, it may not be appropriate for young children to attend.
