Favorite Memory:
"My favorite memory is spending time with my friends going to the football and basketball games and cheering in the pep club."

Influential Staff Member:
"I'd have to say Mr. Fails. He taught history. I really didn't like history back then, but he made it fun and interesting!!"

Choosing to work for ACS:
"I was born in Alliance. My family is here and my husband and I raised our children here."

Importance of giving back:
"For me, I saw the need when my children started school. I got involved volunteering in their classrooms and I liked being around the students. I thought I could help make a difference in their school experience, so when the opportunity came I applied for a job as a teachers assistant. I've worked with different age students, but I fell in love with the younger special needs kids. I feel that it is important to give back to the schools and support your community because you should always remember where you came from."

Ms. Fast’s dedication to her students and love for her hometown truly embodies what it means to give back to the place that helped shape you. 🩵❤️ #RepthatA

Tracy Bowser's class, along with 12 parent helpers, carved pumpkins in small groups. 🎃 The students also completed a science report about their pumpkins. They drew pictures of a pumpkin and then the finished Jack-o-lantern, described it and made predictions of the circumference of the pumpkin.

They had fun putting their hands inside the pumpkins, taking out the seeds and carving it! 😁 #RepthatA

Members of the Alliance High School basketball team volunteered with the Mayor’s Green Commission for a community cleanup this weekend! Despite the cold weather, they spent hours picking up debris and helping clear nearly 40 yards of trash from one of Alliance’s few remaining natural habitats.

The team brought strength, energy, and kindness to the event, as reported by a member of the Mayor's Green Commission. Their efforts made a lasting impact on our community and environment! 😊

Way to go, Aviators, for showing what it means to be caring citizens on and off the court! We are so proud of you! A special shout out to Coach Chet an Coach Korey for encouraging these young men to give back and teaching them the value of volunteering! ✈ #RepthatA

Kaley Sloane’s and Sam Young’s classes at Alliance Elementary School practiced trick-or-treating yesterday! 🍭 Superintendent Rob Gress read a fun story about how dinosaurs trick-or-treat before students traveled around the school, knocking on doors and practicing saying “trick-or-treat” and “thank you” as they received their goodies! 🎃

This fun activity helped students practice valuable communication skills while enjoying the Halloween spirit.

✈ Benjamin Holbrook ✈
Position: 7th Grade Math Teacher
School: Alliance Middle School
Graduation Year: 2010
Years at ACS: 2

Favorite Memory:
"My favorite memories are of participating in all the musicals, the show choir trip to NYC, and playing soccer all four years."

Influential Staff Member:
"Chris Shively (Social Studies and AP-US) and Madame Barnes (French) were my favorite core teachers while at AHS. Both of them created awesome classroom environments and made us think critically. We felt respected and valued in their rooms. Mr. Fisher, Mrs. Sabik, and Mr. Fontaine were a huge part of my ACS experience and heavily influenced my early career in music education and music history."

Choosing to work for ACS:
"I’ve always felt a sense of responsibility for the community that raised me (mainly due to conversations with teachers like Chris Shively, Chris Schillig, Shawn Jackson, and Keith McGeehen while at AMS and AHS). So when an opportunity came up to interview at AMS, I jumped on it right away."

Importance of giving back:
"So many of my peers, myself included, did everything in their power to get out of this town when we were young. And while escaping this one small section of the world was fun and exciting at the time, and while you might get away from the things you disliked about your hometown, at some point you realize that if everyone does that—if everyone leaves and doesn’t come back—then there is quickly no one left to be there to make the positive changes or continue the things that you loved about where you grew up. The kids in Alliance today deserve every great thing this town gave me and more, and I want to be part of making sure it exists for them."

Coming full circle, Mr. Holbrook’s dedication to his students and ACS shows what it means to invest in the community that once invested in you. 🩵❤️ #RepthatA

Kindergarten students in Kristen Hoy's class read the book "Leaf Man" by Lois Ehlert, a book that follows a leaf-shaped character on an imaginative journey through the fall landscape. Inspired by the story, students used real leaves and their creativity to design their very own unique "Leaf Man" creations!

This hands-on activity was not only fun but also educational! It supported fine motor skills, encouraged imaginative thinking, and helped students make connections between literature and the natural world. It also opened up great conversations about the changing seasons, especially fall, as students observed the colors, shapes, and textures of leaves. A perfect blend of literacy, art, and science, this activity brought the magic of autumn into the classroom! 🍁 #RepthatA

34 Alliance High School students collaborated with 37 students from the University of Mount Union in developing post-secondary transitions. Both groups of students met at AHS, got to know one another and collaborated on the project together. They met a couple more times in order to finish, and then the students had the opportunity to present their projects at Mount Union in front of faculty and staff.

This is the third year AHS teachers Jeff Graffice, Mikayla Parfejewiec, Mariah Shaffer and their students have worked with Mary Beth Henning Ph.D and her UMU students and it is always a pleasure to work with them and a great experience! #RepthatA
