Tracy Bowser's kindergarten class celebrated Fall by enjoying one of the best fall flavors - apples! 🍎 They tasted 12 apple products: apple pie, apple juice, cookie, muffins, chips, candy, marshmallows, and more. Afterwards, they charted what they tasted using a descriptive word and if they liked it or not. Each student also brought in an apple to make homemade applesauce! 🍏 #RepthatA

Once a quarter, the staff at Alliance Preschool host a family engagement day! This past Friday, all PreK families were invited to visit the Huston-Brumbaugh Nature Center where they learned about animals 🫏 and insects 🐜, explored the walking paths and took part in fun activities. Superintendent Rob Gress held the first Student Leadership meeting last week. Students from 4th-12th grade met with a group of administrators to learn about what makes a good leader. Many of the students took part in the group last year and will continue taking part throughout this school year.
During the meeting, the kids and adults worked together on a variety of tasks and activities that encourage teamwork, patience and effective communication.

The students in Kaley Sloane’s class at Alliance Elementary School participated in Fat Bear Week! This annual celebration at Katmai National Park in Alaska allows people to vote for their favorite bear based on its size and preparation for hibernation.
Throughout the week, the students engaged in daily voting, learning about the Alaskan Brown Bears and their unique stories. They made bear themed crafts, created snacks, read stories about bears and even did a gummy bear science experiment.
They wrapped up Fat Bear Week with one final vote, a picture, and an “I voted” bear sticker! It was a week full of fun and learning! #RepthatA
