Looking forward to prom, but not the price tag that comes with it? For the first time this year, an event will be held for students to shop for free dresses that will help students get a dress for prom without spending hundreds of dollars.

Jupiter Studio’s Shine Boutique will host a free event for high school girls to shop for free prom dresses and win prizes on Saturday, Apr. 6 from 2-5 p.m. Experience a runway show, prizes and raffles all for free courtesy of donors and organized by Melissa French, Family Support Specialist at Alliance High School; Crystal Shofroth, owner of Jupiter Studios; David Thomas, Executive Assistant for Remote for Rides, also a parent and volunteer. Also helping with this event is Taylor Bates, Get Connected-Peer Connector. Students can also see her if they have any questions in her office, room 243. She is helping to get models from AHS students to volunteer for the show.

“High School memories are important to make regardless of your home life and background. Everyone deserves to have fun in high school,” Bates said.

Donations of dresses, shoes, accessories, gift cards, gift baskets, hair products, supplies and make up are needed. Donations can be dropped off at Jupiter Studios, the Alliance High School’s security office or main entrance, the Alliance Middle School or the YWCA.

David’s Bridal coupons are also available for up to $50 off prom dresses in the main office and in Bates’ office.

Shine Salon at Jupiter Studios will offer free hair, nails and makeup prep by volunteers the day of prom, Apr. 27, from 2-4 p.m.

Anyone would like to volunteer to do hair, nails and/or makeup at Jupiter can contact Chrystal at JupiterStudiosinnovation@gmail.com, message Jupiter Studio’s on Facebook or call Melissa French at 330-829-2254 or 330-605-7625.
