Juniors, Seniors Sparkle Like Diamonds

The 2017 prom may go down in history as Alliance High School’s best. The theme was Diamonds Are Forever and AHS juniors and seniors School had Skyland Pines lit!
Students and faculty agreed that the place looked absolutely stunning. Senior Blake Brown built the step and frame for the backdrop. Maggie Novak, Maddie Waggoner, Phoebe Jackson, and Blake Brown helped decorate.
Many of the decorations were borrowed from Skyland Pines. The rest of the decorations were ordered online using the money raised throughout the year from concession stands at high school games.
The 2016 prom queen, Andé Green, and king, Jai’Ron Brackett, crowned this year’s queen, Cassie SierraValle, and king, Anthony Thomas. Attendants were Cortland Pasco and Aiden Thomas.
The juniors and seniors had an amazing time. The DJ was AHS grad Carson Parmenter, aka DJ Head Trauma .
More than 200 tickets were sold. Some staff said that it seemed to be a larger turnout than ever before.
Junior class advisor Ms. Lauren Benning said, “This year's prom turned out even better than expected. The students looked awesome all dressed up, and had a great time dancing.”
“The juniors and seniors were so respectful to the staff at Skyland Pines,” she added. “All of us were very impressed.”
“The place was beautiful,” said junior Britney Oliver. “I loved the simple but elegant look.”
“I thought it was great. The juniors did a great job setting up and Carson did well on the music,” said Devin Thompson.
“The atmosphere was nice and the food was pretty good,” said Brett McDermitt.”I had a lot of fun with my friends.”
“I think prom was beautiful and everyone had a good time,” said Samantha Spencer. “I’m definitely going next year.”
Junior Dayshawn Deprill summed up the feelings of many of those who attended: “I had one of the best times of my life.”
