Alliance High School is off to another great start, and I am proud to announce the expansion of the iPad Project. Alliance City Schools is committed to making your child’s educational experience the best it can be. We recognize that our world is rapidly changing and that technology is present in virtually every part of our lives. We also recognize that technology can increase a student’s ability to learn and perform well in school. We have secured several grants through the Stark Education Partnership in order to provide every freshman with the new iPad Air and every sophomore and junior with his/her own iPad Mini to use at Alliance High School during the 2015-2016 school year. Any senior who is enrolled in at least one AP course will also receive an iPad Mini to use during the school year.
Students have the most current educational technology at their fingertips every day. I have been in the classrooms and have seen student engagement taken to another level. The iPads are used for everything from note taking to movie making. Look for some of their projects and class work on the Alliance High School website.
AHS continues to offer 18 dual credit courses that allow students to earn both high school and college credits for free. Alliance High School teachers who have achieved adjunct status through the University of Mount Union or Stark State College teach our dual credit classes. New this year is dual credit science courses that students can take at the Alliance Satellite Office of Stark State. These are courses that are not offered at Alliance High School. Students enrolled will start their day at Stark State Alliance and then continue with courses here at AHS. We also offer several dual credit courses that can be taken online.
