It's hard to believe we are through the first quarter of the school year and we are less than three weeks away from winter recess. At Alliance High School we had an excellent first quarter and many of our students earned superior grades on their report cards. Here are some impressive numbers: *154 students had perfect attendance. That's 18% of the student body. *302 students received high honor roll status. That means 35% of the students at AHS had a 3.5 grade point average or higher for the first nine weeks. To reward these students for their hard work, many high school staff went around town and put Honor Roll signs in students' yards reading, "Aviator Pride! My child is an Alliance High School honor student." The senior class led the way with 88 students on the high school honor roll. *180 students received merit roll status. That means 180 students at AHS had a grade point average between 3.0 and 3.5. When you add them together, 482 students had a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. That's over 56% of the students at AHS. That's very impressive! Congratulations to all of these students and their families. I am very proud of you. Keep up the great work! If you get a chance, please check the website for upcoming events that may be of interest to you. I would like to thank the students and staff at AHS for a great start and Go Aviators!
